Gandhi Jayanti Extension Lecture: A Tribute to the Mahatma

St. Charles Seminary hosted an extension lecture on October 2nd to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti. The event, organized in collaboration with the Carolian Theological Forum at the St. Charles centenary auditorium. The theme of the lecture was “Gandhi as a Public Communicator.”

The lecture, which began at 10:00 AM, was attended by students, faculty, and guests from nearby study houses. Prof. Pratishruti Singh Agarwal served as the esteemed resource person. The program commenced with a prayer service conducted by second-year theology students, followed by a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and a prayer for peace led by Fr. Aquin Noronha, the patron of CTF.  Br. Anilbhai welcomed the gathering and introduced Prof. Agarwal.

The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Pratishruti Singh Agarwal, who provided valuable insights into Gandhi’s communication strategies and their impact on the Indian independence movement. Following her talk, Prof. Agarwal engaged with the audience, answering questions and clarifying doubts.

Fr. Aquin Noronha felicitated Prof. Agarwal for her insightful contribution, and Br. Arun Toppo proposed the vote of thanks. The program concluded with the national anthem

Br. Aakash Augustine served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event, which was expertly conducted and arranged by the second-year theology students. The extension lecture was a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy and served as a valuable learning experience for all participants.
