Feast of St. Dominic Guzman at St. Charles Seminary, Nagpur

Today we celebrated the feast of St. Dominic Guzman, the founder of the Dominican Order, a saint known for his deep love for prayer, preaching, and devotion to the truth. The day began with the Holy Eucharist, with Fr. Agustine as the main celebrant. In his homily, he shared about the life and mission of St. Dominic, encouraging us to live our faith with zeal and compassion.

After the Holy Eucharist, there was a felicitation in front of the statue of St. Dominic. All the brothers came forward to greet and wish the priests residing here, expressing our joy and gratitude for their vocation and presence among us. This was followed by a joyful exchange of smiles and blessings.

Later in the afternoon, all the brothers were warmly invited to the Dominican Ashram for high tea. It was a beautiful time of fraternity, where we enjoyed refreshments, conversation, and the hospitality of the Dominican community. The spirit of brotherhood and unity was felt strongly throughout the gathering.

Since it was a free day, we followed the usual timetable of the free day, making time for rest, games, and recreation. The atmosphere of the seminary was light and joyful, as we reflected on the inspiring life of St. Dominic and his call to preach the Gospel at all times.

As St. Dominic once said, “Arm yourself with prayer rather than a sword; be clothed with humility rather than fine clothes.” His example continues to inspire us to live with faith, humility, and a heart full of love for God and His people.
