UNMASK ’22 – The New Comers Day Programme 2022-23

Every institution of formation gives an opportunity for its newcomers to bring out their talents and abilities. In the same way, St. Charles Seminary also arranged a platform for their newcomers on the 15th of July 2020. The event was titled “Unmask ’22,” keeping in mind it as a cultural entertainment event after the interval of two years after the lockdowns and as a program to unmask the talents of the new students of the seminary.

The chief guest of the event was Sr. Mary Nirmala F.S.P.M., the new Infirmarian of the Seminary. The welcome speech was given by Bro. Solomon Ishwarary, in order to welcome the distinguished chief guest, fathers, sisters, and brothers. It was a very good platform for the first-year theology as well as philosophy students to bring out their hidden talents and abilities. There were many outstanding performances put up by the first-year philosophy students, such as curtain-raiser, singing, dancing, musical orchestra, mime, short play, titled “The Heavenly Window,” etc.

The chief guest Sr. Nirmala gave a wonderful speech and encouraged students with words of appreciation. There were also some programs put up by the first-year theology students mainly the skit on the theological context of the woman caught in adultery, titled “The Writing,” which was one of the mind-blowing programs put up on this stage for this event. They also performed a fantastic filmy dance. The newcomers from the various study houses also performed various programs unmasking their singing, dancing, and acting aptitudes.  Rev Fr. Aquin Noronha, O.P., the rector of the seminary also addressed the gathering and appreciated the brothers for their creativity and hard work.

The vote of thanks was given by Bro Glason D’souza of first-year philosophy in order to thank everyone who had come over there to witness this wonderful event and also the seminarians who put a lot of hard work to make this event a successful one. Unmask 22 came to an end with the melodious and meaningful seminary anthem. Unmask ’22  was indeed an unmasking of the new faces of St Charles Seminary and a curtain raiser for the cultural programs which are going to come in the Seminary Academic year of 2022-23.
