Silver Jubilee Celebration of Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha

30th August 2025

Today, the seminary community of St. Charles Seminary, Nagpur, came together with great joy and gratitude to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Priesthood of our beloved Rector, Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha. The evening began with the solemn Holy Eucharist at 6:00 PM, presided over by Fr. Aquin himself. The celebration was graced by the presence of Most Rev. Elias Gonsalves, Archbishop, many fathers, sisters, and brothers from different study houses, religious communities, and parishes.

After the Eucharist, a photo session captured the joy of the moment, followed by a grand felicitation programme in the Old Auditorium. The event was beautifully anchored, weaving together prayers, words of appreciation, and cultural expressions of gratitude.

The family members of Fr. Aquin were warmly welcomed and introduced, adding a personal touch to the celebration. They included:

Mr. Vijay, brother-in-law (late eldest sister’s husband)

Mrs. Mildred & Mr. Alwyn, second eldest sister and brother-in-law

Mr. Melvin & Mrs. Triza, elder brother and sister-in-law

Mr. Kevin & Mrs. Priya, youngest brother and sister-in-law

Their daughter, Miss Alria

The family joined in the cutting of the Jubilee cake and lovingly felicitated him with garlands and gifts. Their presence reminded us of the silent sacrifices and support that accompany every vocation.

The programme also featured a toast by Rev. Fr. Philomen Raj, a heartfelt address by His Grace Archbishop Elias Gonsalves, and a toast song, which uplifted the spirit of thanksgiving. A video presentation traced the inspiring journey of Fr. Aquin’s priestly life, marked by his faith, dedication, and pastoral zeal.

In his Jubilee speech, Fr. Aquin humbly shared his reflections, recalling his priestly journey as one of grace and God’s abiding love. His words moved the gathering, reminding us that priesthood is not just a ministry but a mission of love and service. The programme concluded with words of acknowledgement by Br. Lazary, followed by a fellowship dinner, where joy and fraternity were shared among all.

This Silver Jubilee was not merely a celebration of 25 years of priestly service, but a testimony of faith lived with courage, compassion, and fidelity.
