The Carolian Theological Forum had organized an Inter house homily competition 2023-2024 on 15th September at 6.00 p.m. in Aula Magna. Seven students of Theology from various study houses participated in the competition with more zeal and enthusiasm. Rev. Fr. Prasanth of Nagpur archdiocese was the chief guest as well as the moderator of the competition. “The Spirit of Gratitude in Christian life” and क्षमादान चंगाई की महान शक्ति were the topics for the English and Hindi homily competition respectively. Fr. Chandan, Sr. Kala, and Mrs. Florentina Andrews were invited to be judges for the competition.
The program began with a short introduction video followed by a welcome procession of the participants and the dignitaries to the stage. After the prayer song and lighting of the lamp Bro. Micheal Abhisant welcomed the gathering as well as introduced the Moderator and the judges to the audience. Thereafter, the Moderator introduced the rules to the participants and the judges. It was indeed a tough competition between the study houses as the participant delivered their homilies in an outstanding and inspiring way. Once the competition was over Fr. Prasanth shared his inspiring words with the brothers on how to deliver a homily. He said that a homily should be both informative and formative; such kind of homilies can create a new impact on the audience. Sr. Kala also spoke a few words and appreciated our contestants. Dn. Showry expressed his words of appreciation for the chief guest and the judges; all of them were honored with a shawl and gift. After the felicitation, the prizes were announced both for Hindi and English homily competition. Bros.
