Annual Campus Picnic 2021: A Day of Joy, Fellowship, and Refreshment
The Annual Campus Picnic 2021 at St. Charles Seminary was a much-anticipated event, filled with laughter, fraternity, and joyful recreation. Taking place in the heart of nature, the day offered seminarians and staff a refreshing break from their regular academic and spiritual schedule.
Held in a spirit of togetherness and simplicity, the picnic featured a variety of engaging activities—fun-filled games, uplifting music, delicious meals, and moments of prayer and thanksgiving. Friendly competitions and shared laughter created lasting memories, while the open-air setting fostered a sense of peace and renewal.
More than just a time of leisure, the Annual Picnic 2021 reminded all of the essential role of rest, joy, and community in the holistic journey of formation. It was a truly enriching experience, strengthening bonds and uplifting hearts.
Annual Picnic 2021-2022
St. Charles Seminary had its annual house picnic on Sunday, 31st October. The 2nd year brothers under the guidance of Fr. Charles Savarimuthu, their Moderator, were the “oarsmen” who took charge of rowing the boat “St. Charles Seminary” the whole day rather smoothly. The picnic began at 9: 30 am with the solemn entry of all the batches with their moderators, followed by a grand opening ceremony in which Fr. Aquin Noronha, the rector, who encouraged the brothers to have a competitive spirit in all the activities.
The house picnic was conducted in two sections viz. outdoor games in the morning and cultural events in the afternoon. The outdoor games consisted of chilly in the bottle, finding the coin, guiding the blind, A to Z, go forward, beating with the ball, filling the bottle and drawing a tale for the elephant. Some games like musical chair and finding the matching cards were conducted for the staff too. The indoor cultural events consisted of paper fancy dress, tableau, qawwali, natural orchestra and spot dance. Both philosophers and theologians came up with their innovative and creative skills. The whole program was indeed set ablaze on a competitive spirit. The soft drinks, snacks and sumptuous lunch supplied the required energy.
At the completion of all the events the rector appreciated the brothers for their efforts and for the wonderful picnic. The picnic ended with the prize distribution in the evening in which it was announced that 3rd year Philosophers were the Champions of the Annual House Picnic. The undisputed fact of the day was the skillful organization of the events by the second-year theology brothers.
