It is customary in St. Charles Seminary to introduce the new commers to the staff and each other. Obviously, the primary goal of this meeting is to get to know each other and at the same time to let the brothers know that are welcomed to the Carolian Family, and encourage them to develop a sense of belonging to the Seminary. With these motives the 1st Year Philosophy and Theology brothers gathered in Bishop Eugene Memorial Hall on 14th morning August 2021 at 9:00 to introduce themselves to the staff and each other.
Fr. Aquin Noronha OP, the Rector, began this pleasant event by reading a passage from the Gospel and invoking God’s blessing upon the gathering. First Fr. Rector introduced himself and asked the priests, sisters and the brothers to briefly say a few words about themselves mentioning their names, from where they come from, belonging to which diocese/religious congregation, places of minor seminary formation, the present stage of formation, hobbies, talents, etc. Some brothers added a little colour to their introductions by singing and cracking jokes.
The entire program turned out to be both informative and entertaining for all of us. It was a great moment for us as we introduced ourselves because we not only came to know each other but also felt welcomed and accepted though we are from different Dioceses, Congregations Cultures, and Languages. Our senior brothers served us tea and snacks and the introduction came to a conclusion with a word of thanks by Fr. Rector.
