Carol Singing Competition and Year Ending Programme – 2021

“Christmas is a time to rejoice by doing simple things that make life more beautiful and to create memories which will be cherished forever”.

The students of St. Charles seminary organized an inter-class carol singing competition and year ending programme on December 23, 2021. The event began at 6:00 pm by receiving the guests from the entrance of auditorium. Sr. Anula Irvin Suguna O. P. was the chief guest of the day and Fr. Praveen O. P., Sir Ankit and Fr. Suni Tirkey O.P. were the judges of the day. The programme began with invoking God’s blessing by a prayer song, sung by the staff meanwhile the dignitaries were invited to light the lamp. Br. Francis Samuel David Raj welcomed the gathering with his beautiful words of welcome followed by the introduction of the judges by Br. Jackson Vincent.

Having welcomed the guests, the Carol singing competition for 2021 began. Both theologians and philosophers of each batch came up with their creativity and presented the carol on the stage to the best of their ability. It was indeed angelic to listen to each performance. At the completion of carol singing competition the year ending programme began without delay which consisted of various competitions like fancy dress, dance, advertisement and mime. Every performance enriched our minds and hearts. The hard work and involvement of every student made the day a memorable one. Once the competitions were over the chief guest, Sr. Anula, enriched us with her Christmas message in which she spoke about the contemporary issues in the society and our contribution to the society at the time of need. Thereafter, Fr. Aquin Noronha O.P., the Rector, addressed the gathering, followed by the felicitation of the guests and prize distribution. At the end Br. Niroj Lakara gave the vote of thanks and the event came to an end by singing the seminary anthem. Br. Amit Lakara and Br. Anup Lakara were the masters of ceremony for the entire programme. The whole event was organized by the brothers of third year Philosophy Students.
